5 SELF CARE TIPS FOR YOU, MOMMA!
TAKE A CANDLELIGHT BUBBLE BATH
NOURISH YOUR SOUL AND MIND
Pick up a good book before bed; maybe even the Bible itself! I’m currently reading Lioness Arising by Lisa Bevere and I try to get as much reading in as possible every night. When I don’t pick up a book, I’ll open up the Bible app on my phone and dig into one of my reading plans. Reading will help soothe your mind from the chaos of the day and will nourish your soul.
SLEEP WHEN YOU CAN
Momma’s are always on the run! Literally. When the kiddos are awake, that means mom gets to run after a two year old toddler whose potty training, teach their four year old that they are not the boss, feed a six month old every two hours, prepare dinner for the working husband, sort out and try to get as much laundry done, etc – wait, that’s my life, lol. But seriously, it can get hectic for anyone with kids. Whether is one kid, two kid, or three like me, you need as much rest as you can get because you may be able to function for a short while without the rest, but eventually, your body will crash. So sleep mom! Sleep and don’t apologize for taking nap.
WAKE UP EARLY
You’re probably thinking this contradicts what I just said a minute ago about sleeping when you can, but I promise it’s not contradicting at all. When you nap when your kids nap, that makes up for the sleep you didn’t get at night. So waking up earlier shouldn’t be that hard. YEA RIGHT……. It is extremely hard because it’s hard for me. Maybe it won’t for you. But as hard as it is to wake up, sometimes you just have to do the sacrifice to get some alone time. It gives you time to shower, get ready for the day, have some alone with God, and even eat yourself a good breakfast; cause if you’re like me, you probably drink a cup of coffee for breakfast which is not good because I tend to forget to eat until lunch time. That’s life sometimes, but waking up earlier, can definitely give you that much needed time you need to get those things done.
