This post is for my fellow mommy friends who love to read! Ya’ll know I’m a huge bookworm and am always finding a new book to add to my reading list. Last year, I didn’t get to read as many books as I wanted but I did get into three new books and reread one of my all time favorites. In today’s list, I’m sharing 5 books that I have read recently had a huge impact on my relationship with God and how I live my day to day Christian life.

1. LIONESS ARISING
I have read Lioness Arising three times already and each time it has had a huge impact in my spiritual and personal growth. The imagery of how the Lioness protects and defends, while still seeming majestic, is such a powerful sight to imagine. I’ve used this book for my book clubs each time, along with the workbook, and it’s been a blessing being able to see how it has also impacted the women I have worked with. I recommend reading this book every year, if you ask me! It really is a book you want to read if you are tired of staying stagnant in your ministry and even personal life.
2. FEAR IS NOT THE BOSS OF YOU
I love how Jennifer Allwood approaches the reader in this book. It felt like she was speaking directly to me and not just writing words on a paper for a complete random to read. It felt personal and straight to the heart. Fear Is Not The Boss of You helped me realized that if I didn’t break the chain of fear in my life, I would be passing it on to my kids. It taught be to do what God has placed in my heart and not think twice about it; something I’ve always done: second guess myself because I didn’t feel like I was good enough. So thankful this book came into my life because I learned so much because of it, even got some confidence to write back!
3. AWAKEN
Awaken is a 90 day devotional that has a little section after each devotional for some guided journaling. Prior to hearing about this book, I was in desperate search of finding a daily devotional for the New Year (2020) and didn’t find anything that grabbed my attention. But when one of my favorite bloggers shared her experience with this, I knew I had to try it. Priscilla shares real life experiences and scripture to help you grow in relationship and connection with God. Waking up each morning to one of these devotionals was always a blessing.
ps: this devotional is completely undated, so if you miss a day, you can just pick up where you left off.
4. BRAVE ENOUGH
Just as in Fear is not the Boss of You, the author of Brave Enough helped me get over fears that I have struggled with for a long time. Nicole teaches that you just need the right amount of brave to move on and into your calling. I think it’s pretty evident that I desperately needed liberation when it came to the fears that taunted me. If you are feeling like I once did, I highly encourage you to grab this one!
5. THE HOLY BIBLE
You KNOW I had to put this one in here. Those books I listed above are great and all, but there is no better book for both personal and spiritual development than The Word of God. You want growth in 2021? Dig into scripture and what watch Abba minister to you through the Holy Spirit in such a way that He will convict you of things you need to change in order to walk in His purpose for your life. And there’s all types and versions of the Word. You can’t understand, get the other!
I’m going to be sharing some quick links for you to be able to purchase the books we just talked about, but I’m also going to share some extra links for Bibles accessories I think you will really love!
