I have been journaling since I learned to write. I used to keep a little diary that I would hide from everyone so they wouldn’t find out who my crush was and everything I thought him.Yup. Those were the days, haha. I thought it was just a phase that I would grow out of, but as I got older, the need to journal only intensified.
I started learning that through journaling, not only was I managing my emotions, but I was learning more about myself and my relationship with God and I began to use it as a resource in developing who I was, and am, in God. Through journaling, I also developed a deeper connection with ABBA. I have never been good with expressing myself through words so when I started writing some of my prayers, I found that I connected with God on a more personal level that didn’t grow based on what everyone else thought a meaningful conversation with Him was. This is not to say that conversing with God in actual prayer is not as meaningful, because it is, but to me, journaling is so much more than just pen to paper.
Most of my journaling now as an adult is for one specific purpose: To grow in who I am in God and to deepen and strengthen my relationship with Him. Of course, there’s so many different ways to grow your relationship with God and grow spiritually, but if you’re a writer like me, even if just in your personal time (meaning, not a blogger), and you sometimes struggle with not knowing what to write about, like I do, then I’m sharing these 30 prompts with YOU!
